POSITION PURPOSE

Crew Scheduling Coordinators are an integral part of the SOC and serve as a critical component to the airline’s operation. The Crew Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for ensuring each scheduled flight is departs on time with a legal and qualified crew for operational excellence. Crew Coordinators uphold our corporate guiding principles by providing on-site advice, guidance, assistance and direction in all aspects of the crew scheduling position. Follows all policy and procedures for maintaining crew legalities to prevent disruptions in the day-to-day operations due to crew issues. Maintains a high level of customer service within the workgroup.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Create and modify crew members schedules to resolve all conflicts created by weather, maintenance and crew issues by exercising decision-making skills that comply with all applicable FAA regulations, CBA, and company policies while using resources efficiently. Monitor legalities to pro-actively re-crew for operational performance and maintain federal legality and contractual compliance of flight crew member schedules for a 24 hour/ 7-day operation. Communicate with Dispatch Coordinators and Maintenance Supervisors regarding daily operational concerns to resolve any disruptions. Work closely with Dispatch Coordinators during irregular operations to ensure operational integrity and the operation is aligned for a successful startup. Monitor Pilot and Flight Attendant turn time connections and replace crews to avoid delays when necessary. Effectively communicate with crew members and union members regarding federal regulations, CBA compliance, schedule assignments and accommodations. Utilize multiple software systems to track and solve complex scheduling problems and complete required checklists. Assign daily work tasks to the crew scheduling team and ensure tasks are being completed in a timely manner. Review reserve coverage and align daily reserve coverage to set the operation up for success. Ensure daily coordinator checklists are complete. Assist schedulers with daily tasks. Primary resource for crewmember escalated operational questions or concerns. Provide training and guidance to crew schedulers to become more efficient with work procedures. Provide shift turnover report to Scheduling Team and Crew Scheduling Managers. Uphold Republic Airways guiding principles, vision and mission statements.

Competencies and Knowledge: The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills in the following: Ability to learn and proficiently operate sophisticated and complex software systems (e.g. Sabre CrewTrac, ELP, Flica, etc.); approachability; time and performance management; strong organizational skills; proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving; positive communication and customer service skills (verbal and written); ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment; ability to interact with all levels of company personnel; strong team player; professional aptitude; ability to manage multiple projects at one time with time sensitive deadlines; ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations appropriately when performing job duties; and adaptability in fast-paced, high-stress, aggressive growth environment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

H.S. diploma and at least 6 months in the Crew Scheduling position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in related field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

DECISION MAKING

Makes decisions daily on use of resources, performance and budgets. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions.

Travel up to 10% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays and overnight stays.
