POSITION PURPOSE

Along with department Managing Director and Director, acts as essential communicative liaison between Republic Airways Holdings (RAH) and the company’s major partner airlines regarding future flight scheduling. Acts as important communicator between the department and the rest of RAH for review of proposed future flight schedules, distribution of final schedules, and handling after-the-fact changes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Works with departments to ensure monthly schedules for each aircraft type meet requirements of crew planning and maintenance planning

  • Reviews monthly flight schedule proposals from partner airlines. Identifies and communicates the extent of changes and their likely effect on RAH operating departments.

  • Assists in keeping department Intranet site up to date with latest schedule related information, flight numbering ranges, maps and lists of airports served.

  • Analyzes schedule performance and produces reports based on RAH’s Daily Performance Application Reports.

  • Produces reports for departments based on future and past schedule information.

  • Distributes final schedules internally and posts monthly intranet schedules.

  • Exports and imports partner’s files as well as various forms of the schedule from the system.

  • Communicates late and post-bid schedule changes; communicates internally and externally any requested late schedule changes for approval. Creates and issues schedule change advisories as needed. Reviews and resolves ad hoc issues internally and externally and helps plan for alternate schedule activity.

  • Monitors flight numbers for compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements. Works with the FAA and partners to resolve similar call sign issues.

  • Consolidates data from various sources and create clear, concise, meaningful reports and dashboards

  • Create data visualizations to display trends and assist the department in making data-based decisions.

  • Assists in maintaining/building data for internal schedule forecasting.

  • Monitors block time performance/flight scheduling efficiency.

  • Performs competitive research mainly based on Diio software.

  • Identifies process improvements and cost savings and acts as resource for leaders on the planning and execution of strategic initiatives; ensures that key business unit decisions are in line with corporate goals.

  • Completes airport-requested fiscal year forecasts of aircraft landed weights and passenger counts.

  • May entail aircraft routing map making.

  • Fosters the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent experience Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Power BI and/or Tableau skill set

  • Experience with SQL

  • Geographical knowledge and time zone awareness is critical

  • Must be excellent proofreader

  • Excel in spatial relations and what-if reasoning.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in related field. Prior experience in airline operations/dispatch/operations control preferred. Familiarity with SSIM software code for transmitting/receiving airline schedules. Proficient in airline flight scheduling software.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,

and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively

before groups of customers or associates of the organization. Able to negotiate in a positive/friendly

manner. Proficiency in proofreading.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only

limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,

diagram, or schedule form. Needs to be an efficient proofreader.

DECISION MAKING

Makes decisions daily on use of resources, performance and budgets. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions.
